Dear DiscoverSnoop users,

Since the end of last year, our community of media groups using DiscoverSnoop has grown rapidly. With new customers come new ideas for improvement. First, let us say: we love receiving your suggestions! They are always sharp and useful, and we do our best to bring them to life. If you have any ideas for improvements, please don’t hesitate to share them with us!

Here’s a look at the latest updates we’ve added to DiscoverSnoop

1/ Translation is here!

DiscoverSnoop displays articles as they appear in the Google Discover feed, meaning they are shown in their original language. However, understanding Japanese when you’re German (or vice versa) can be quite a challenge! To make things easier, you now have the option to automatically translate all article titles and snippets into English. This feature is already available on Live Pages and is gradually being rolled out to Historic Pages as well. Activating it is simple: go to your Account page, find the “Translate articles?” section in the “Account details” box, and select “Yes, translate each article into English.” That’s it! The translation process does not slow down your analytics requests since all titles are pre-translated. Everything happens instantly.

2/ Major speed improvements

One of the main concerns from our customers was the slow loading times for Historic Pages, as well as the Category and Entity analysis pages. When we launched, DiscoverSnoop covered 16 countries with relatively simple data. However, throughout 2024, we added more data (such as entity tracking) and expanded to nearly 40 countries. This extra data introduced latency, which we recognized was affecting usability. We’ve now made major optimizations:
– Historic Pages now load 10x faster
– Category analysis is 4x faster
– Entity analysis is 4x faster

3/ 1-hour Live Pages analytics

If you’re eager to track what’s trending in real-time, Live Pages (as well as Live Categories, Live Domains, and Live Entities) now allow you to view results from the last hour (instead of the previous 3 hours). This new filter helps you detect the latest trends faster. However, we encourage users to complement their 1-hour analysis with a broader time frame (such as 24 hours) to ensure they are capturing sustained trends rather than short-term spikes.

And one more thing…

Our final rankings for February 2025 are here: the best publishers on Google Discover! We’re thrilled to see our customers dominating the top ranks, and we’re confident they will continue growing their audiences in 2025 with our new features.

As always, our small but responsive team is eager to hear your feedback. Let us know what you think about these updates—we’d love to hear from you!

Warm regards,
The DiscoverSnoop Team
